Invisalign can be used to treat simple and complex orthodontic problems and is very effective in doing both. If you can benefit from Invisalign treatment it is extremely unlikely you will need to wear braces as well. Once you have completed your orthodontic treatment and your braces or aligners have been removed, we will fit you with a retainer. This will help to keep your teeth in their new position. There are two types of retainers: fixed retainers are made up of a small wire that is fitted at the back of your teeth; removable retainers are like thin mouthguards. We will advise you on the length of time you should wear your retainer to ensure your teeth don’t move back into their old position.
